While the ACLU and its Enfield clients prepare for litigation, the Enfield Public Schools' decision to return its 2010 high school graduations to a Bloomfield megachurch is drawing media attention.
Legal Director Sandra Staub explained the case to a sometimes-aggressive pair of talk show hosts; hear it now.
And the national USA Today had a news story and a commentary in its Faith and Reason column.
The Hartford Courant editorialized in support of the ACLU's position.

The Waterbury Republican editorialized against.
In earlier developments, leaders of the ACLU of Connecticut expressed disappointment at a divided decision by the Enfield Board of Education to hold graduation ceremonies after all at Bloomfield's First Cathedral.
Two months earlier, observed Sandra Staub, legal director of the ACLU Foundation of Connecticut, Enfield had decided to hold graduation at a secular venue. The reversal of position comes very late, she observed. "The vote is disrespectful of religious minorities and would force students and families to choose between attending graduation and being subjected to intense religious symbols, or not participating in this important event in their lives," Staub added.
"We are conferring with our clients to determine next steps," she said. The Hartford Courant reported that the town had been offered help from the American Center for Law and Justice, a Washington D.C.-based group whose website says it is "specifically dedicated to the ideal that religious freedom and freedom of speech are inalienable, God-given rights."
