The ACLU Freedom Files To Air On Court TV

Starting in February, The ACLU Freedom Files, the groundbreaking new television series created by the ACLU and award-winning filmmaker Robert Greenwald, will air on Court TV most months on the second Saturday at noon, as part of the cable network’s “In Pursuit of Justice” programming (we'll send you a schedule with exact dates). The series features real ACLU clients and their attorneys, and shows how they fought for their civil liberties.

The ACLU Freedom Files premieres on Court TV with “Religious Freedom,” which tells the stories of ordinary people whose fundamental right to live by their beliefs was challenged. Viewers will be introduced to parents and teachers in Dover, Pa., who defeated a bid to introduce intelligent design into school classrooms; a high school valedictorian and Christian who combated censorship; a woman whose home was firebombed because she didn’t want one religion favored over another in her son’s school; and others.

The series is also available on satellite television network Link TV, which is carried by the DISH Network and DirecTV; college television network Zilo TV; and www.aclu.tv, where past episodes are streamed for free, and DVD copies of the shows can be purchased. Viewers interested in learning more about the series and the issues can visit www.aclu.tv.
