ACLU-CT Executive Director Talks About Montville's Senior Safety Zones

The Montville Town Council voted Jan. 14, 2013 to revoke an ordinance limiting the movements of registered sex offenders through so-called senior safety zones.

The vote to rescind the ordinance came after the ACLU of Connecticut objected to the senior safety zones and council member Rosetta Jones mounted a successful petition drive to force the council to reconsider the ordinance.

In the video below, Jones talks with ACLU-CT Executive Director Andrew Schneider about the ordinance on her community television show, Town matters. The conversation took place on Jan. 10, 2013 at the Metrocast office in Waterford, shortly before the town council vote.
