The Winter 2008 issue of the Civil Liberties News of ACLU-CT should have reached members by mail, but it's also available here, along with an opportunity to vote for a slate of board members for two-year terms starting April 1. If you support the full slate, go back to the home page and click on VOTE; otherwise ballots must be mailed. When you vote, you'll be asked to make a contribution to the non-tax-deductible American Civil Liberties Union of Connecticut, which supports our legislative lobbying efforts. Separately, later, we'll ask for tax-deductible contributions to the ACLU Foundation of Connecticut. For a more complete explanation of why there are three organizations -- the national ACLU, the Connecticut ACLU and the Connecticut ACLU Foundation -- read Don Noel's comments to the right. To get a better idea of how we use contributions to the Union, poke around this website. Membership: Members will receive this month a mailing from the national ACLU asking for membership renewals. We hope you'll respond promptly. Renewing that membership automatically renews your membership in the ACLU of Connecticut, and keeps you on our mailing list.
