A legislative committee has heeded the advice of the ACLU and others and turned down a gubernatorial proposal to install radar cameras on an accident-prone section of I-95. A majority on the committee voted not to send the bill on for further action, arguing that the public’s right to privacy outweighs a dubious attempt to improve highway safety. Comments by those voting to kill the bill echoed those expressed by the ACLU earlier in the week.
