Join the ACLU of Connecticut and other organizations for a press conference at the federal courthouse in Hartford, 405 Main St., Friday, October 12 at noon to protest the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) flawed and unjust social security “no match” rule.The new DHS rule would cause U.S. citizens and other authorized workers to lose their jobs by illegally using error-prone social security records as a tool for immigration enforcement. The press conference is part of the National Day of Action, a nationwide event sponsored by the National Alliance for Immigrant Rights to call for the abolition of the Administration’s “no match” program.Connecticut AFL-CIO and Stop the Raids! Students of TrinityCollege will be among the other participants at the press conference.
