Bio
Cristher Estrada-Perez (she/her/ella) joined the ACLU of Connecticut as the Community Engagement and Education Program Director in 2025. She is the former Executive Director of the Student Loan Fund, with over seven years of experience in fighting for racial and economic justice in education. A proud graduate of Hartford Neighborhood schools, a queer Boricua, first-generation college graduate, and English language learner. Throughout her work, Cristher has organized, facilitated, and educated working towards racial and economic justice.
She helped Connecticut borrowers and allies to push for student debt cancellation and free state colleges and universities, to fight for equity in k-12 education, for environmental justice, and so much more. Her work is rooted in anti racism, community organizing, political education, and coalition building, driven by the belief in collective liberation and the power of shared stories.
