Bio

Amber Vlangas serves as the donor relations officer of the ACLU-CT. As a fierce advocate for equity, human rights, and the defense of individual liberties, Amber is committed to advancing the organization’s mission by cultivating meaningful partnerships with donors and supporters.

Prior to coming to the ACLU in 2021, Amber developed her leadership skills as a member of the United States Marine Corps and spent over 20 years engaging in fundraising and resource development for a variety of nonprofit organizations. She holds a B.A. in Visual Communications from Thomas Edison State University and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in public policy. Amber is a strong believer in the power of human connection, restorative practices, and effective storytelling to create positive change. Her passion is motivated by a heart for service and the impact that the criminal legal system has had on her family and so many others. In her spare time, Amber co-hosts and produces a podcast, hosts a restorative peer support circle, creates art, and spends time with her family. She currently serves on the Board of the Jewish Community Center in Sherman and volunteers with the Restorative Action Alliance and the Julia’s Wings Foundation.
