Concerned about Trump's continued threats to a fair and free election this November? Want to know what you can do in Connecticut and beyond?
Join us at Indivisible SECT's meeting on September 14, when the ACLU-CT will present the Plan Your Vote, Connecticut education campaign. As of 2026, Connecticut voters have the option to choose between three easy ways to vote and want to equip you with the resources and information you need to plan your vote and be empowered to make your voice heard. They will also share information on their strategy to protect the 2026 elections including ACLU national plans for election protection for "at-risk states."
Cristher Estrada-Perez is the Community Engagement and Education Program Director. Gus Marks-Hamilton is the Advocacy and Organizing Manager.
This a local Indivisible event held at the Lighthouse Inn at 6 W. Guthrie Place, New London, CT. The Inn opens just for our group! We will be congregating, socializing, and taking action together. Learn what you can do to help fight against fascism in our country.

"No-excuse" voting (also known as mail-in voting) is here! How do you plan to vote? Connecticut now has 3 ways: Early In Person, Mail-In Ballot and on Election Day at your local District.

Protections Against National Guard Deployment
Join ACLU-CT and CT For All to learn about how Governor Lamont can effectively create protections against Connecticut National Guard deployment.
Earlier this year, we witnessed the Trump administration use the National Guard in a deeply disturbing and dangerous way when he ordered the deployment of National Guard troops to several states. These deployments have and will continue to result in countless violations of people’s basic rights and liberties across the country.
There is something Governor Lamont can do about it. We need Governor Lamont to protect and serve the people of Connecticut by signing an executive order that will set clear guardrails to prevent the Trump administration from misusing Connecticut’s National Guard.
Now is the time to protect Connecticut residents and ensure that President Trump cannot deploy federal national guard troops into our neighborhoods.
The event will be recorded and will have live Spanish translation.

Pop-Up Art Gallery: In Their Shoes
Over the past few months, the ACLU of CT and Ben & Jerry’s CT has collected art from local artists around the theme of disrupting the harmful narrative that we’re seeing in the mainstream media around immigrants, refugees, and asylees.
We are working in collaboration with WestConn to host a pop-up gallery to create a community space that uplifts the art we’ve received, celebrates our collective resilience and joy, and creates a space to engage with the WestConn community and partners. We will also be joined by Joanna Dreby, author of Surviving the Ice Age.
We are hosting this free, public event on Monday, Nov. 24 from 4pm-6pm in the Ruth A Haas Library at WestConn's Midtown Campus.

November Office Hours: National Guard Deployment in CT
Before our very eyes, President Trump is ordering into our cities federal agents who are using secret police-style tactics to service his extremist, authoritarian agenda. Normally, the National Guard’s default role is under the control of the governor of each state or territory, only to be activated by the governor for purposes authorized by state laws and regulations with few exceptions. However, we have seen President Trump deploy National Guard troops within the U.S. under federal control, violently targeting our most vulnerable neighbors. We know that Trump’s abuses must be met with the direct power of the people.
That’s why this month, we’ll be joined by our public policy and advocacy director, Chelsea-Infinity Gonzalez, to discuss the Trump administration’s plan to deploy the National Guard in states and how that impacts us here in Connecticut. We will begin by level-setting with supporters about what the National Guard is and what their role entails before discussing what we the people have power over when considering the National Guard.

We, the people, aren’t going anywhere, and we won’t be silenced. President Trump and his administration are abusing their power and denying us our fundamental rights in the process, but we won’t back down.
Let’s be clear: Power belongs to the people, and the people will hold power to account.
We’ll be out in the streets on October 18 with communities across the country to condemn the Trump administration's escalating abuses of power.
