Fall 2026 Fundraising Internship

Location: Hartford, CT

Department: Philanthropy

Organization Overview

The American Civil Liberties Union of Connecticut defends, promotes, and expands the civil rights and civil liberties of all people in Connecticut through litigation, community organizing and legislative advocacy, and civic education and engagement. We are an inclusive, nonpartisan, and statewide organization within the nationwide American Civil Liberties Union network, powered by our supporters, partners, staff, interns, cooperating attorneys, and our board of directors.

The ACLU of Connecticut Philanthropy Department is launching its first-ever internship program. The program is designed to expose individuals to the full spectrum of donor development and fundraising and provide hands-on experience in the field, while also helping strengthen the department and the organization’s mission. The ACLU of Connecticut envisions an equitable, democratic, and anti-racist Connecticut in which all persons are treated with dignity in a thriving society. We utilize community centric fundraising principles to identify and activate the full potential of donors by connecting donors to our work; make the case for increased and sustained support; and create long-lasting relationships with our philanthropic base throughout the state.

An important value of the ACLU of Connecticut is elevating the voices of directly impacted people (i.e. BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and immigrant communities). If you are someone who is directly impacted by the work of the ACLU, you are strongly encouraged to apply.
