The ACLU of Connecticut is saddened to learn of the passing of Drew S. Days III, a champion of civil liberties and former ACLU-CT board member and legal advisor, who died on Sunday, November 15, 2020. Drew oversaw the enforcement of federal civil rights laws as the first African American assistant attorney general for civil rights under President Jimmy Carter and later served as U.S. solicitor general under President Bill Clinton. The ACLU-CT is grateful for his years of service to civil liberties in the Constitution State and beyond. The entire ACLU-CT family extends our heartfelt sympathies to his wife, children, granddaughters, sister, and all of his loved ones.
