Today, the Connecticut Senate Republican caucus released a proposal to roll back Connecticut laws related to criminal legal reform and police accountability. The following is a reaction from Claudine Fox, ACLU of Connecticut public policy and advocacy director:

“Instead of proposing investments in the programs and services that make us safe and strong, Senate Republicans are going back to the same old 90s playbook of trying to scapegoat Black and Brown youth for society’s problems, all while attempting to frighten people into ignoring the real evidence-based solutions that create thriving and healthy communities. The proposal put forth by Senate Republicans today is grounded in political fearmongering but not facts, and it will most harm Black and Brown kids.”
