S.B. 3, An Act Combatting Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment

The ACLU-CT supports meaningful reform to empower people who have experienced sexual harassment and violence. While the ACLU-CT does not oppose movement to reassess Connecticut’s statutes of limitations for sexual assault, we oppose S.B. 3’s proposals to eliminate statutes of limitations altogether.

This bill would take steps to protect that privacy by allowing people who share a health insurance plan with others and who are authorized to consent to their own health care to keep the details of their health care private.

S.B. 765 An Act Ensuring Fair and Equal Pay for Equal Work

The ACLU of Connecticut works to ensure that all women have equal access to employment, free from discrimination. The ACLU-CT strongly encourages the legislature to support Senate Bill 765, a bill to ensure Connecticut workers receive fair and equal pay for equal work.

S.B. 697, An Act Concerning Nondisclosure Agreements in the Workplace

As an organization that protects free speech, the ACLU-CT supports putting restrictions on workplace nondisclosure agreements (NDAs). An employer should not have the right to require a potential employee to sign an NDA regarding sexual harassment or sexual assault as a prerequisite for employment.
