By the end of session, S.B. 397 became a bigger omnibus bill containing provisions around automated license plate readers (ALPRs), government accountability and transparency, and protected areas around Connecticut.

H.B. 7132, an Act Concerning Non-Safety Related Traffic Stops, is crucial to addressing the enduring racial disparities that exist in traffic stops, particularly for Black and Latine drivers.

The ACLU of Connecticut supports a H.B. 6948, which would help provide people who are living with a criminal record with access to housing so that they can grow and thrive within their communities.

The ACLU-CT believes that Connecticut is stronger and safer when all people have a fair chance of accessing housing. Connecticut needs to invest in housing programs and services specifically for people leaving incarceration.

The ACLU-CT strongly supports S.B. 143 because housing is a basic human right. Our communities are stronger when everyone has access to a safe home and the opportunity to succeed.
