The ACLU-CT believes that all women should have equal access to employment, free from discrimination. Automatically providing the salary range on job postings creates an open dialogue from the beginning of the job search process.

All people in Connecticut have a right to safe, stable, and affordable housing. Under current law, landlords are required to return a security deposit within 30 days of vacating a property. A delay in returning these funds can have disastrous effects on the state’s most financially vulnerable.

We're committed to policy solutions that protect marginalized communities from violence. We cannot, though, support efforts that increase violence by increasing existing overpolicing of marginalized communities.

We cannot have full and equitable participation in society by women and other people who menstruate unless we ensure safe and affordable access to menstrual products to everyone who needs them.

The ACLU-CT believes strongly in removing barriers that prevent people from accessing the ability to run for elected office, particularly barriers that present a disproportionate hurdle to underrepresented groups.

The ACLU-CT supports meaningful reforms aimed at holding educational institutions accountable when they fail to respond to gender-based violence.

When it comes to fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution of Connecticut, we believe that those rights are not just for the people who use the “he/him/his” pronouns throughout the Constitution, but for everyone.

The rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and gender non-conforming people are a touchstone of the ACLU of Connecticut’s legal and legislative work.
